Requirements and Business Case for an Integrated Works Management System
The Challenge
The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) manages Western Australian land and heritage assets using a disparate range of systems and platforms. As the result of business changes, DPLH needed to reform business processes and build an integrated solution to deliver services more efficiently.
The Solution
KDR provided strategic business analysis services to determine business requirements and build a business case for an Integrated Works Management System (iWMS). This included identifying process improvements, minimising duplication, and supporting integrated service delivery across existing platforms. KDR evaluated the alignment between user requirements and business systems, developed detailed business requirements, determined strategies for systems implementation, and produced project management material such as project briefs, procurement documentation and project initiation documentation.
The Outcome
KDR’s business analysis services helped DPLH identify a suitable technology platform to facilitate process improvement as a result of process reform. The new iWMS will support resource optimisation, process efficiency and management reporting, and improve overall quality of service and responsiveness to customers.
