Managed Database Administration Service Across the Oracle and MS SQL Server Technology Stacks

The Challenge

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ (DLGSCI) mission is to enable a dynamic and inclusive community by facilitating outstanding sporting and cultural experiences and opportunities.  To support a significant number of ongoing changes and updates, DLGSCI needed to reduce the frequency of ad hoc changes, and move to a managed support service across different database platforms.

The Solution

KDR provided a managed database administration service across the Oracle and MS SQL Server technology stacks, along with support for DLGSCI’s WebLogic and Tomcat environments.  This included service level monitoring, proactive maintenance and patching, resource optimisation and on-call services.  KDR also provided advice on performance enhancement measures, and best practice industry advice on systems administration and database security.

The Outcome
