The Challenge
DevelopmentWA is the State Government development agency responsible for delivering long-term, complex and transformative projects shaping WA’s future. Following changes to the prevailing corporate structure, DevelopmentWA faced the challenge of determining the best organisational structure to deliver agile and resilient IT services, including defining the optimal blend of in-house and vendor sourced skills.
The Solution
KDR’s Advisory consultants conducted a three-stage assessment for DevelopmentWA. This included an analysis of the existing structure, team skills and business requirements, the development of an overarching IT process framework, and the development of a strategic framework for IT service delivery.
The Outcome
DevelopmentWA were provided with a roadmap for a future-state IT platform which embraced technology advances while also managing risks. This included a schematic of key processes required to ensure transparency, reliability and rigor. KDR also canvassed the adoption by DevelopmentWA of the International Standard (ISO 38500) for Corporate Governance of IT. This enables DevelopmentWA to drive assessment of gaps and weak points in the current process framework, and to determine improvements required to drive best-practice IT service delivery.
